One of the idealistic and greatest things about starting and running a company is the dream of only working with people you love. Everyone has different business plans, ideas, aspirations, but I think the one thing most if not all entrepreneurs have in common is the desire to envoke change and do it with people you enjoy being around.
For me, I couldn’t and wouldn’t being do this with out my business partner and best friend, Patrick Dillon. I also love our staff Erin, Mel, MIchelle, Seth, and David. Having a great team makes you want to wake up in the morning, make that extra sale, raise the money to fund the business, and at the same time make the office fun for your staff.
The next best thing is sometimes being able to bring in your personal hobbies and interests into the business and produce business opportunities. Recently for us that has been music and bands. We support independent artists and now independent musicians. Plus, a lot of musicians wear t-shirts and jeans so naturally they should be wearing Collar Free.
We are interviewing another band tonight, but our first musician Lee Coulter is great and his music fits our company vibe perfectly.
He recently played a concert on Moonlight Beach in Encinitas, CA rocking Collar Free

We get great PR, musicians get great threads, what better balance can there be in the universe.

I looked up Lee Coulter at thesixtyone.com, but couldn’t find him.
On another note, I would highly recommend opening a *free* account there, if you haven’t already done so. It’s a great place to meet new music artists, collaborate comments, and it runs on a bump voting system.
It’s a sweet site, and I would look into running some viral marketing there.
Thanks Devin, we’ll look into it. We want to start working with more artists, so this is perfect.
It is true… working with people you care about makes all the difference. Especially when we are all as close as we are. Proximity wise…
We are all personally invested in Collar Free and it makes getting up early, more worth it.
Can’t wait to get more musicians involved. Working with Lee Coulter has been awesome!
